B’fashion in Zlin is an international fashion contest and also a unique chance for young and talented students who study clothes and footwear design.
The organizers of B’fashion in Zlin are students of Faculty of Multimedia Communication (FMK) at Thomas Bata University. This project is part of the Communication Agency subject. Main idea of the project is to provide space for student creativity, provoke their ambitiousness and competitiveness. At the same time it also provides an opportunity for self realization and development. The prize money for winners is not the key goal. The aim is to achieve success of young creative Europe artists and to provide the fashion industry with fresh new ideas. They can compete in three different categories – clothing design, shoes design and fashion photo.
Final of B’fashion in Zlin takes place on 13th and 14th of May 2008 in Zlin, Czech Republic. The programme will include workshops, lectures, presentations of our sponsors, styling show, etc… The highlight of the contest is an evening ceremony which will be held on 14th of May. There will be a fashion show of the contestant’s models which will be divided in two categories: design of clothes and design of footwear. The jury which will consist of famous celebrities from the fashion world will pick the winner. The media will be present as well.
The history of B’fashion in Zlin started in 2006/2007 with the inspiring idea of nowadays manager Marian Füry, one of the students of Faculty of Multimedia Communication (FMK) at Thomas Bata University.
Time schedule of B’fashion:
- Until 13th of April 2008 – Jury will choose finalists in category clothing design (jeans rhapsody topic)
- From 13th April 2008 until 12th May 2008 – Finalists in clothing design are creating their models.
- Until 23rd April 2008 – Jury chooses finalists in category fashion photo
- 9th May 2008 – Jury will choose finalists of shoe design category
- 14th May 2008 – Final ceremony in University Centrum Zlin building (presenting the winners, fashion show, fashion photography exhibition…).
- 14th May 2008 – After the official ceremony starts a party for international participants, students and visitors of the ceremony. The afterparty takes place in University Centrum Zlin garages.
Since 14th May 2008 – Making publicity for the winners of B’fashion in Zlin. The best models will be seen on the prestigious fashion shows in Czech Republic and Slovakia. Realization of prize winning shoe design by Bata company. Start of collaboration between the Kampo clothing company and the winner of clothes category in order to deliver the ideas of winning B’fashion in Zlin designer in spring/summer 2009 collection.
