Ikarus bus concept

There are not so many designers in Ukraine, who stay as a true followers of their initial specialization – industrial design. But nevertheless we’re trying to find some. So here is the work of one of them – new Ikarus bus concept by Denis Belmas (Lugansk city).

Ikarus concept is not a commercial project. Just Denis, as a great fun of tourist buses, decided to create a brand-new design, which reflects the most up-to-date safety and comfort requirements of such popular bus in countries of former USSR Ikarus. An analysis of last year models was done, and afterwards some family traits were taken as a basis. For example, very sticking out, like under lip, bumper is one of them.

From initial sketched and toward final 3D model the concept was changed several times.
The most marked details of the new design is conditioner ‘hood’, hanging over windscreen. Also you can notice windscreen itself, curved rather in complicated manner. Front optics combines bi-xenon headlights and LEDs. Perimeter sidelights and rear lights also uses LEDs as they are more efficient and brighter in comparison to standard lamps.

The cabin is made in calm, light beige colors, supplied with all needed comfort for passengers. As in every bus of the same class, there is composting toilet, bar, fridge, 2 pull-out LCD monitors, conditioner, individual lighting and audio system with 2 sub woofers.

Cabin 50+1+1 places, pitch between row of seats is 900 mm
