The selection has been made for the international exhibition of the 21st Biennial of Industrial Design (BIO 21)!

The international Selection Committee of the 21st Biennial of Industrial Design met 8-9 May 2008 at the Architecture Museum of Ljubljana at Fužine Castle in Ljubljana. For the first time in the history of the Biennial, the selection of works for the exhibition was made by an independent international Selection Committee. They applied a uniform set of criteria as they examined all the entries that had been received in response to the international Call for Entries for BIO 21. The seven respected experts who make up the international Selection Committee made a rigorous selection of the best in the areas of industrial design, visual communications, and design concepts. Another opportunity for car designers, students of car design courses to show their abilities in design, engineering, styling.

American car company Local Motors is hosting a series of monthly car design competitions aimed at selecting projects for a limited series production. The next contest is titled ‘Miami Road Racer’ and will start on 20 May 2008.

After presenting couple of pieces from the collection at Zona Tortona during Milan design week 2008, UP zavody launching a new collection of designer furniture at ICFF in New York, which is one the most revered furniture and design show in the world. We will bring you pictures from this event in NYC later.

Another news from UP zavody is that they have launched new presentation which could be seen here. It is a short presentation about history of UP, time line and exposure of the new collection.
