Designers’ Open – Shop

Designers’ Open announcing a further project : Designers’ Open – Shop

They are going to lease one of this year’s festival halls for a period beyond the end of the festival. It is their objective to offer products for a limited period of time, which are characterized by their outstanding form, functionality, a long life and sustainability. In addition, there will be an area that accommodates seasonal products and that communicates the theme of the Christmas Holiday Season in a special way.

The DesignersOpenShop (DOS) sees itself as a temporary space for activities at which not only favourable conditions for the designer are offered but which is also perfectly situated in the midst of the city center vis a vis the Leipzig Christmas Holiday Market which is visited by an enormous number of people. We hereby would like to encourage you to submit your saleable products (no prototypes).

The procedure for this is simple, indeed. First, you will have to fill out the “product form” attached to this email and sent it back to us (one description per product / form). After the selection will have been made, you will be charged just a basic fee (corresponding to the sales price of the product). This basic fee will be charged only once, regardless of how many products of this type you will sell in the DesignersOpenShop (DOS). For each product sold, we would get a sales commission of just 20 % of the nets sales price, however, 80 % go to the designer.

You can submit your product descriptions until 20 October 2008.
If you have any questions, please write an email to shop@designersopen.
Or call at +49 (0)341 200 18 84.

  1. “In light of the uncertain residential housing market and slowing commercial construction and design projects, redesign and rehabilitation rather than new construction in both the commercial and residential sectors is likely to receive renewed focus. In blending economy with performance, interior designers will need to focus on creative solutions and cost-effective ways to meet clients’ goals in these challenging economic times,” said ASID Executive Director Michael Alin.
