Intel and Asus (in Czech Republic) decided to organize competition for students to design Mobile Internet Devices – MID in order to inspire manufactures for new future development of this devices. Make your own opinion on if this aim was fulfilled. I think it is good intention and quality will grow in the future I’m sure about it. This year I didn’t see many innovative solutions. All off then were pretty much the same and were following the way of how mobile phones are constructed today.
What would be really fine for next edition of this competition is to have prototypes or at least mockups for winners (or give the winners opportunity build their mockups themselves with using prototype technologies in order to gain experience in this field, which would be quite handy for them) . So maybe collaboration with prototyping house would be benefit.
