Speaker at Auto(r) Automotive Design Conference 2009: Today, there are just few designers in the world that are allowed to place their nameplate on car they have designed. Belgrade born Serbian designer Saša Lakić (44) is one of them. He designed all seven Venturi models that are made since Gildo Pallanca Pastor, the wealthiest Monegasque, took over this French GT car producer in 2001. Saša Lakić father was a fashion designer that worked in Paris for Yves Saint-Laurent and Nina Ricci so it was natural for Saša to become a designer. He has decided to work as industrial designer in 1981, when he was only seventeen and as a self thought, designed a vast number of products from furniture and watches to knives and bottles, but cars and motorbikes remained his favourite.
