Unfortunately, for designers and users the global depression temporarily stopped the production of one of the projects of Andrey Vostrikov – Qp kettle. But for our readers we are to offer to be the first who sees this original “wonder of engineering”.
Qp is an ordinary kettle. Qp is an utility in everything, very unique and is set apart from its many rivals, which try prove their price with original design, but just waste resources of consumers and manufacturers.
In Qp kettle the main focus is on commercial economy. The main aim of this project – develop a kettle, which is cost efficient and therefore reflected by its low price which design is also organic and different. The low price of Qp is designed to allow this kettle to be affordable to all families and families with a very modest income.
Price, functionality and aesthetics – this is Qp.
On its own Qp is a usual electric kettle with standard heater component. Researching showed us that very big part of the price consists of logistics (delivery, warehousing and ect.) expenses. Determining factor for Qp is reducing cost of logistics, this means getting cheap and reasonable kettle.
Then engineering idea has integrated the handle inside kettle case. Just this innovation allows to make a third smaller package for kettle. Refusing round shape made bigger capacity for water. Reducing area of heater element together with increasing its power helped to keep consumer properties. Another idea is to keep switch and machinery of lift lid in one block. One of the big benefits is using standard elements (switch and electric heater) like in all other kettles. Because the cost for projecting and production of brand new elements was admitted unreasonable for this project.
As a result, Qp got a small size, square shape and very low price of production and logistics, common and intelligible ergonomics and unusual design.
