Designers’ Open Volume Five – the countdown is on! Please come and celebrate with us the five year anniversary of the Festival for Design in Leipzig! Until July 31, you can submit your furniture, industrial, communication, product or fashion design projects.
DO/09 – News
Designers’ Open 09 has some valuable improvements in store. Main attractions will be further highlighted to attract and guide visitors more specifically. The well structured new exhibition layout caters to the needs and expectations of exhibitors and visitors alike, with the new areas DO/Sale and DO/Idea (working title) clearly seperated. This way, both exhibitors hoping to sell their products and those showcasing projects and prototypes can make the very best of their presentation.
Industrial design is to become an integral part of the Designers’ Open portfolio. Providing essential industry-related services, this sector plays a vital role in promoting trendsetting contents and concepts. In collaboration with chambers and trade associations concerned, we aim to install an ideal environment for creators and the industry to meet up.
Event Location
We will announce the exact location of this years’ Festival Centre in a few weeks. The main trade show will of course be situated in the inner city, marking the vibrant centre of Designers’ Open. A number of off-site exhibitions (DO/Spots) add to the impact and scale of the Event, integrating the Festival into the urban surroundings and making the whole city participate.
DO/ Jury Prize
On October 23, 2009 prizes shall be awarded to the best submissions by an internationally-staffed jury. We are going to announce the jurors and prizes at a later date.
Breaking the Visitor Record
Stylepark praised Designers’ Open to be an „IdealMesse“ (the „ideal trade show“), Niels Holger Moormann dubbed it „congenially improvised“, while visitors and exhibitors were simply enthused about DO/08. Alltogether a feedback that fuels our aspiration to pass the 10.000 visitor mark this year.
The successful blend of trade show, sales platform, fringe events, special exhibitions and parties characterising Designers’ Open is sure to fascinate the many visitors again this year.
