TESCOMA

The manufacturer of brand kitchen utensils, Tescoma and its corporate Design Centre are an example, still unique in our country, of successful application of an original design on common products in daily use. Hundreds of thousands of people around the globe regularly hold in their hands the design products which Tescoma began to develop and design in 2000.

The design_stage exhibition presents to the public a comprehensive cross-section of Tescoma Design Centre activities over the last almost ten years. It does not present only the products themselves, but also shows in an interesting way how the design of common items is born. The Tescoma brand design is introduced in something of a “raw” industrial spirit in the Trade Fair Palace of the National Gallery in Prague. The concept of the exhibition follows on from the original mission of the Trade Fair Palace where the quality and strength of Czechoslovak industry was traditionally promoted. The exhibition stresses the fact that contemporary brand kitchen utensils are produced en masse, loaded on Euro pallets and transported with forklifts. Such is the way in which design products from Zlín designers are presented at the design_stage exhibition.
