Posters are hanged-up, flyers are spread, and banners are installed – soon, the 5th Designers’ Open, the Festival for Design / Leipzig, is starting. Slots on television and radio are fixed and there has been a large number of press accreditation which shows that there is an enormous media interest for this event.

Altogether, works by more than 150 designeres will be exhibited at this year’s festival location, the Merkurhaus. In addition, 4 special exhibitions present some unconventional developments in product, industrial, and interior design. Furthermore, visitors can again discover exiting contributions at the DO/Spots. Stores and galleries are used as off-site locations, magnets off the exhibition center.

We are expecting far more than 10 000 design experts and fans.

An extensive program including workshops, talks, and film screenings substantially complete the daytime exhibition program.
