AUTO(R) 2010 – Second automotive design conference

Auto(r) 2009 was the biggest automotive design conference in Europe last year. Following that success, we are proudly announcing Auto(r) 2010. 20-21 March, Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb

Two day event will take place 20-21 March (weekend) in the new building of Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb. By choosing this location we would like to underline permanent link between design and contemporary art that was institutionalized for the first time in New York 1951 with exhibition “Eight Automobiles” in Museum of Modern Art (MOMA).

Auto(r) is again putting focus on people that create cars. Our goal is to present to widest audience real people with name and surname that has styled cars as we know them. Creative role of designer in automotive industry was underestimated. Until recently designers were just anonymous employees. Today, a technical difference between various cars is smaller than ever and role of designers is thus growing on importance.

CONFERENCE AUTO(R) 2010 presents lectures, panel discussions, workshops and Design Challenge Auto(r) 2010 finale and prize giving.

MAARTEN DE BRUIJN (Spyker, Silvestris) – Dutch designer end entrepreneur, co-founder of new Spyker and designer of all models until 2005 when he left to start Silvestris and produce boats.
FRANCESCO CARBINI (DaimlerChrysler, Moto Guzzi, Audi, Ford, BMW, MINI, Italdesign Giugiaro, Yamaha) Clay modeller and lecturer at Scuola Politecnica di Design, Milano.
DARIO DROPUCIC (freelance) – Croatian with Scuola Politecnica di Design Transportation design degree.
ENRICO FAGONE (Car & Transportation design, founder and editor in chief) – One of world’s most influential theoreticians on automotive design.
GEORG GEDL (Audi, BMW, freelance) – The first professional automotive designer from ex Yugoslavia.
OMER HALILHODZIC (Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Daimler, freelance) – While working as Exterior Design Director at Mitsubishi Europe he altered brand style with models like Lancer EVO X
NEMANJA LALICIC (Stola, Honda, freelance) – Serbian designer in 2008 transformed Maybach Exelero concept into Stola Phalcon Coupe for Arab oil sheiks.
MARKO LUKOVIC (winner of Peugeot Design Contest 2001., Zastava, freelance) – Winner of the most famous automotive design contest in the world, organised by Peugeot and Assistant Professor at two universities in Serbia.
GIANCARLO PERINI (Car Styling, founder and Editor for Europe) – One of the world most prominent journalists specialized in automotive design. 1969-74 he was marketing and PR director at Italdesign.
SEBASTIEN STASSIN (Piaggio, Honda Motorcycles, KTM, Kiska) – Motorbike designer credited for style of extreme car KTM X-Bow.
DRAGAN ŽEGARAC (Volvo, Volkswagen) – Design Project Manager in Volkswagen design department.

Standard Fee: Euro 20 both days, Euro 14 one day.

Student Fee: Euro 10 both days, Euro 7 one day.
