G-1 is a retail gallery group with ambitious plans. 8 stores now, They aim to be 100 stores within 3 years. The group designs most of its own products in a Dubai based studio and, now, this studio is set to expand with the appointment of an accomplished design team. Mid weight designer and Junior Designer needed in Dubai
Most g-1 products are based on or around images – photographic, graphic and illustrative and further innovation and ideas are required to build a substantial and totally brilliant product range. To this end, most of what g-1 does is from self-generated briefs – “no client telling us what to do and when” – only internal pressure to push the boundaries of new product design.
Mid weight designer
- With packaging, retail, high-end consumer product design experience.
- With at least 3 years working experience in a design/branding environment, you will be passionate about creating ‘new things’ and improving on existing ideas.
- A self-starter, you will be capable of coming up with original concepts and seeing them through to production. Ambitious, innovative and with an eye for detail, you will also be a team player and capable of communicating your thoughts and ideas to artworkers, stakeholders and store managers.
- You will have excellent knowledge of materials and a real eye for typographic nuances. You will work to develop a strong house style which will become internationally synonymous with g-1.

Junior Designer
- Graphic design, branding and some packaging
- Integral to the design team, you will be an exceptional designer with a degree education and at least two years working experience.
- Passionate about brands and retail design, you will have demonstrable interests in packaging, papers and (perhaps) product design.
- Working with artworkers and photographers, you will be capable of seeing projects through various stages of production. You will need to have a keen eye for detail, production quality and finishes.
