As part of the Vienna Design Week Passionswege – a programme that brings young designers and traditional Viennese businesses together to work on new projects – Slovakian designer Tomas Kral created a series of lamps with and for the hat maker Mühlbauer.
Taking his lead from the symbolic analogy between lamp shades and hats, Tomas made use of the full range of production process and materials Mühlbauer employ in their hats, to create a series of playful and distinctive lamps.
The body of the lamps are all ceramic while the hats/shades are either felt or parasisol.
