We are glad to introduce you Macedonian platform Ministry of pleasure, which was presented in Sofia Design Week 2012. We have made a short interview with one organizer and also young designer involved in this project. Biljana Stojanovska was born in Skopje, where she studies Master’s Studies in Industrial Design and Marketing.

Please Biljana, introduce us Macedonian project named Ministry of pleasure.
The name itsefl is a world play. With the Ministry of pleasure, we are trying to bring people back to the roots of enjoying art and design as it was before. Not as nowadays, where pleasure is mostly about momentary feeling.
Ministry of pleasure is a Macedonian platform that integrades the creative sector, actually integrading all the established designers and companies that do industrial design and young designers, which in this case is showing jewellery design and student designers or students of our faculty of industrial design. We want to show that there is a good design. No matter which level you are, as long as it is a good design, that is what we want to show.
Who has formed the idea of Ministry of pleasure?
Ministry of pleasure actually is just the platform and the organisation behind it is Public room, which si non-government organisation that joins architects, designers and artists. They support them, promote them and combine them with the industry. The organisation introduces them to international design festivals and makes connections with foreign designers.
Ok, as well as I understand, the Ministry of Pleasure platform is not only designed for Sofia Design Week festival?
It is not designed for this event. It has began last year with creating Skopje Design Week. So Ministry of pleasure was created for Skopje Design Week and this is our first time here in Sofia. We are trying to evolve, grow bigger and involve more designers and have a lot foreign guests, as Annebet Phillips with lamps and Iva Jankovic with her new fashion collection this year. We are planning to grow bigger and go further.
Is Ministry of pleasure aimed at any special area of design? Or is this platform open for all designers?
So far the biggest part is industrial design, but we have joined few fashion designers. We also have some graphic designers involved and as I have said – we are planning to grow bigger – trying to involve every kind of design, architecure or art.
