The Slovakia-born Switzerland-based designer, Tomas Kral graduated from the Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne as an industrial designer and since then he has worked on several projects connected to lightning, furniture and accessories. He uses glass, cork or ceramic to create his objects furthermore he often infuses them with unexpected ideas, humor and freshness.
His new product, called 1/4, is a series of colorful containers, made of standard metallic tubes that can be divided by bended metal sheets. The dividers are bigger than the tubes, so they are the structural element and the two parts together can create visual identity of an object resembling a sail of a boat or a leaf.
