Young Package 2011 knows its winners. This time in category Package for a National Product – High school students are these winners:

1st place: Tomáš Chludil – A small Suitcase for Merkur: The case for the building kit Merkur will please childern, but perhaps even more their playful dads. Funstional package fits very nicely with its content thus giving a way for the shapes and strong colors of famous Czech kit to stand out.

2nd place: Lukáš Kocián – Bag for Mushroom: Everyone who goes to pick mushrooms in the woods or goes to farmers ,arkets, will certainly appreciate this simple paper bag, which replaces the wicker basket on the way home. Minimalist perforation servers not only as bold graphic element but also allows content to breathe.

3rd place: Michael Rosa – Package for Salami: Author introduced an interesting shape of package for traditional meat product. With its form the package changes a common product to an exclusive delicacy and encourage the customer to purchase and unrepetable culinary experience.

3rd place: Pavlína Králová – Package for a string: Tangle of nodles in the closet, matted fibers and tangled ball of twine with ends impossible to be found. the package for string represents a clever way to avoid similar confusion. the author created a practical package that doesn’t have to be thrown into the trash but can be refiled.

Chair man of Jury Prize: Kateřina Kuchariková – Czech Lace: Even in 21st century traditional handicraft products don’t have to loose their popularity. The set of packages created by the author will remind you of the charm of Czech bobbin lace. After putting together and attaching by elastic band, the cardboard butterfly evokes a typical thread spool. The size is reasonably large to attract and doesn’t disturb. The choosen solution is easy for production, original and effective.

Young Package 2011 knows its winners. In category Package for a National Product – University Students and Designers of up to 30 Years old are these winners:

1st place: Diana Winklerova – Flagwrapper-Czechwrapperl: Perfectly designed packaging for glass with integrated colors and shapes of Czech flag creating uniform and harmonic complex.

2nd place: Lubica Kulomberova – Botas Shoe Package: Simple and smart construction of the package allows for insertion of promotional or instruction materials in between two triangle shaped spaces for shoes.

3rd place: Melissa Dangerfield – Honey sweets: visualy atractive and low-cost producible gift package goes beyond conventional packaging. The pack of candies recalls a bouquet, individual blossoms can be easily separated by pulling the string.

Slovak Design Center Prize: Martin Sombathy – Bryndza Cheese package: Author uses bulkiness of the cheese and with the twist he is shaping it into the sheep body. Package uses minimum of materials (paper and recyclable plastic) thus reducing the environmental impact.

You are cordially invited to Young Package 2011 Award Ceremony which will be held on 26 May in NoD, Dlouhá 33, Prague 1. Henkel is inviting participants to a packaging design contest. In the Adhesives Packaging Design Contest, everyone with creative skills may submit designs for adhesives packaging. Unlike the usual contests, it will be possible to discuss and vote for the proposals through an online platform; then, a panel of experts from the fields of business and vocational training will select the winner. The best design will be rewarded with prize money of 3,000 euros. The deadline for submission of entries is 18th March 2011.
