Slovak designer Roman Ficek has designed floating candle inspired by folding paper boat. It is available in six colors, has 50g and burning time is circa 2 hours.

Russian studio Art. Lebedev came up with fresh idea of new piggy bank. Copilcus will make all your savings positive, which is a nice change in your money plan. Coins are being inserted through “plus” symbol, unlike in a traditional piggy bank. As Art. Lebedev studio says: Do not waste time on negative savings, go with a positive “plus” plan!

Petra Pavelková has designed very special fruit bowl for talentDesign project. Every piece is original thanks to specially curated wood called bendywood.

Designer is hand bending the wood one by one to form birds nest like form. Each bowl is original.

Czech Selection is joint exhibition representing selection of propduction of Czech companies which are working in are of furniture manufacturing, lights and glass. Exhibited producers are using regional craft and industrial know-how and collaboration with talented and progressive designers of all generations. From companies which will take a part we can name few: for example Qubus Design Studio, MM interier, Monsterra, Belda Factory, Bomma and others..

Exhibition will be located at Paris fairground Nord Villepinte from 20th till 24th of January 2012.

One of the latest works from Art. Lebedev is the concept giving a new impulse to watch market, according to their task: To bring an idea to life. Studio Art. Lebedev have designed specific digital watch Integralus, which have two separated display segments. One for minutes, one for hours and each has his own baterry. These segments are designed to snap together to lock your watch. The body is made of machined aluminum. The elastic band comes in three sizes, diverse colours and uses spring shafts to connect to the body.

Art. Lebedev latest products are two keybords sharing the same idea of personalisation your computer workplace. Optimus Popularis may look like a normal keybord with standart layout, however it is not true. Each key can be displaying any image and be assigned with any function, from special symbols to most popular shortcuts. Optimus Popularis have been designed with creative people in mind, as musicians, designers, photographers, etc.

Second device, Optimus Mini Six is perfect to use as a tools panel, remote control and other ways which will help you to shorten up opening applications. Optimus Mini Six offers six customizable keys, that can have diverse functions, same as her bigger sister.

Exhibition The Incredible Lightness of Being: Jiří Pelcl – Czech Design will take place 7th Jan 2012 – 20th Feb 2012 at University of Brighton Gallery. The exhibition is a British premiere of the recent work of ­­­­­­­­­­­Jiří Pelcl, famous Czech designer. On January 20th will be also held one-day symposium by the designer.
