Some years ago, a young businessman, called Péter Baldaszti, had a dream about a gourmet center in Budapest, that attracts the visitors from all over the world to gain new experiences in gastronomy. For the sake of the cause he hired and collaborated with the best professionals in order to create a special, world-class interior, that goes together with the grandiose meal and drink offers. Their hard work fructified and now there are 3 spots, that run under the name: Baldaszti’s.

Baldaszti’s Kitchen

The first two spots, the Baldaszti’s Kitchen and Market opened in 2011 on Lánchíd Street, where the milieu is absolutely compelling. The original interior desing was made by Geppetto Interior Architects, whose designers created an eclectic atmosphere full of interesting design elements. The first conspicuous thing is the dark floor, which really emphasizes the white Philippe Starck furniture, while on the gallery the cold whiteness is softened by the colorful books on the shelves. The different premises have different functions, so under the same roof the guests can find a gourmet shop, in which the store character dominates, a tasting room and a café combined with a kitchen. Finally there is no way getting away from the wallpaper, the luminaires and the MOZA cement tiles.

Baldaszti’s Grand

The youngest spot in the line is Baldaszti’s Grand that is situated on Andrássy Street. The high headroom is coupled with minimalist design, big windows and variable lighting. White is still dominant especially in furnishing but the revetment has a warmer effect thanks to the wooden material; furthermore most of the furniture are recycled or second-hand. The designers paid attention to small details and one of the most imaginative ideas was the white painted branches that are hanging above the guests’ heads.

The work of the Czech design studio Whitefruits is based on research and development of design and production techniques in porcelain that go beyond the limitations of industrial production. This dose is the queen of the kitchen. It features a high-tech silicone lock mechanism while its classic porcelain make a nostalgic link to the work of Josiah Wedgewood.

Czech company Brokis have introduced new lighting product called MEMORY. Designed by Boris Klimek and with recognisable influence of childhood, MEMORY lightings are great to look and fun to use. New Brokis product resembles to balloons, however turning it on and off with hanging cords will make your room even better and happier place. Three sizes and a range of colours in the interior gives free passage of play, imagination and create different lighting.

Performance made of six designers fashion show is going to introduce their works and collections is also supposed to be a fashion photography exhibition opening. Photogaphy by Jan Grombirik and contemporary fashion designes by Miroslav Sabo, Daria Makeeva, Jindra Jansova, Karolina Jurikova, Jana Ljuptakova and alesbary will create a completed project together called VISION. What joins the authors? Common attitude to fashion design in creating visions to work with and the author of photography.

Project is supported with special guests who is an architect Eva Jiricna, Eva Eisler and Jana Knauerova. All of them, on a position of a model or an author are nameholders of the photographic collection together with young designers above.

Slovak designer Roman Ficek has designed floating candle inspired by folding paper boat. It is available in six colors, has 50g and burning time is circa 2 hours.

Russian studio Art. Lebedev came up with fresh idea of new piggy bank. Copilcus will make all your savings positive, which is a nice change in your money plan. Coins are being inserted through “plus” symbol, unlike in a traditional piggy bank. As Art. Lebedev studio says: Do not waste time on negative savings, go with a positive “plus” plan!

From 29 January till 3 February 2012 will take place second workshop within the GLASS IS TOMORROW framework. Twenty glass professionals will gather in Novy Bor, Czech Republic. We can mention for example: Rony Plesl (CZ), Arik Levy (FR), Matteo Gonet (CH), Maxim Velčovský (CZ).  The first workshop took place in Nuutajärvi, Finland from 12 till 16 September. Polish designers, Maria Kuboszek and Tomasz Wozniak have created an interactive jewelry collection, combining silver with easily changeable plasticine in fluorescent tone that is correspond the user’s mood and desire of creative mindset everyday. The material is better then the one of our childhood, it’s non-toxic, intensive and staining.
